Edison Stagelight Players present ‘Much Ado About Nothing’
PIQUA — The Edison Stagelight Players will present “Much Ado About Nothing,” directed by Matt Beisner. The group will hold performances April 5 through April 14 in the Robinson Theater at Edison State Community College’s Piqua Campus.

SHS class taps into local history, current community development
SIDNEY – In a unique educational collaboration, students from Sidney High School’s Intro to Human Geography course recently experienced an enriching journey through their community’s history and urban development followed by a high-level overview of recent and future development of their community. Partnering with the Shelby County Historical Society and the city of Sidney government, this field trip exposed students to practical insights into the dynamics of human geography within their own backyard.
Pioneer Electric announces scholarship winners
PIQUA — Ten area high school seniors have been selected to receive Pioneer Electric Cooperative’s 2024 scholarships. 38 applicants from 21 schools throughout Pioneer’s service territory applied for the scholarships.

HAYS, Kan. - Fort Hays State University has named 1,646 students to the deans’ honor roll for the fall 2023 semester.
Student talent showcase planned
LIMA — The Ohio State Beauty Academy will host its 2024 spring student talent showcase Thursday, March 21, with the theme “Fairy Hair and Pixie Dust: Where Magic Meets Style.” The hairstyles will be paired with creative makeup applications, nail art, and costume designs inspired by a theme chosen by each student stylist. The showcase will take place at the UNOH Event Center with doors opening at 6 p.m. The event will start at 6:30 p.m.

75 students from Upper Miami Valley heading to State Science Day
PIQUA — A total of 130 students from Miami, Darke, Shelby and Champaign Counties competed in the Ohio Academy of Science Upper Miami Valley District Science Day, held at Edison State Community College, Piqua, Ohio on Saturday, March 9, 2024. Students exhibited projects in science, technology, engineering and mathematics which they worked on from September through February of this year. The Science Day (Fair) program has been in Ohio since 1949. Students who complete and present a science or engineering project at a local science fair in their school, or at a county event, may qualify to compete at the District level.
