SIDNEY — Susan and Dennis Hughes, of Sidney, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, July 31, 1965.

Dennis and the former Susan Tennant were married July 31, 1965, in the First Presbyterian Church in Troy. They had met as students at Miami East High School.

The Hugheses are the parents of two sons and daughters-in-law, D. Scott and Lynne Hughes, and Jeffrey and Bridget Hughes, all of Piqua. They have two grandchildren.

Susan retired in 1995 as a radiological technologist at Lima Memorial Hospital. Dennis retired in 2005 as the regional sales manager of a division of Land O’ Lakes.

Susan enjoys volunteering at Dorothy Love Retirement Community and she participates in Eastern Star. Dennis participates in the Masonic lodge. They both enjoy spending time with their grandchildren.
