Schneiders celebrate golden date

SIDNEY — Connie and David Schneider, of Sidney, celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, today, May 28, 2016.

David and the former Connie M. Strunk were married May 28, 1966, in the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney. Monsignor Lehman performed the ceremony on the evening of a warm, sunny day. Witnesses were were Judy Brandewie, sister of the bridegroom, and Mike Schneider, brother of the bridegroom. The couple had met through mutual friends.

David is the son of the late Viola and Fred Schneider. He has two brothers, James Schneider, of Tipp City, and Mike Schneider, of New Bremen, and two sisters, Janet Dodd, of Minnesota, and Judy Brandewie, of Sidney.

Connie is the daughter of the late Dorothy and Ralph Strunk. She has three living brothers, Ralph Stunk Jr. and Roger Strunk, both of Sidney, and Kenneth Strunk, of Tennessee, and three sisters, Betty Smith, Georgia Smith and Donna Redmon, all of Sidney. Another brother, James Strunk, is deceased.

The Schneiders have a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Thelma Schneider, of Sidney, and a daughter and son-in-law, Katrina and Phil Gilardi, of Sidney. They have three grandchildren.

Connie retired in 2011 after working 15 years for Alcoa/Norcold and 13 years in quality control at Freshway Foods.

David retired in 2006 after 43 years as an Alcoa warehouse supervisor.

The couple attend Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney. The enjoy family, their granchildren and yard work.
