Couple celebrates golden date

SIDNEY — Vicki and Donald Stephens, of Sidney, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, today, Feb. 4, 2017.

Donald and the former Vicki Korn were married Feb. 4, 1967, in Sidney. The Rev. Ross Willhide performed the ceremony on a snowy day. Witnesses were Flossie Rider, great-grandmother of the bride, and Mark Korn, the bride’s brother. The couple had been introduced to each other by the bridegroom’s sister, Fayrene Goff.

Donald is the son of the late Mary Christine and Jessie Stephens. He has three living sisters, Margi Branscum, of Burnside, Kentucky, Faye Goff, of Pemberton, and Diane Young, of Sidney, and four living brothers, Roger Stephens, of Burnside, Kentucky, Jessie Stephens Jr. and James Stephens, both of Sidney, and Mikel Stephens, of London. Another sister, Betty Davidson, and a brother, Ronnie Stephens, are deceased.

Vicki is the daughter of the late Jean Fout and John W. Korn. She has seven brothers, Mark Korn, of Richmond, Indiana, Jason Fout and Eric Fout, both of Sidney, Darren Korn, of Cincinnati, Gavin Korn, of Franklin, Indiana, Jerry Hogge, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Paul Hogge, of Whiteville, Tennessee, and two living sisters, Marilyn Hannegan, of Piedmont, Oklahoma, and Beverly Strawsburg, of Mechanicsburg. Another sister, Tami Fout, is deceased.

The Stephenses have two living daughters, Rhonda Harris and Staci Foster, both of Sidney. Another daughter, Angel Stephens, and a son, Shawn Stephens, are deceased. They have seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Vicki and Donald both retired as the owners of Metal Finishers Inc. in Sidney.

They enjoy old cars, traveling and spending time with family. They say their grandchildren are the highlight of their lives.
