SIDNEY — Lucy (DuLaney) Schmidt, of Sidney, will celebrate her 90th birthday, April 22, 2016.

Schmidt was born April 22, 1926, to Udah T. and Henry H. Dulaney, who are now deceased. She married Raymond Schmidt, who is also deceased.

She is the mother of three sons and a daughter-in-law, Gene Schmidt and Bruce Schmidt, both of Sidney, and Phil and Sandy Schmidt, of Botkins, and a daughter, Cathy Richardson, of Sidney. She has six living grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. One grandchild is deceased.

Schmidt has lived in the same house since she was 2 1/2. She attened Sidney Schools and worked as an usher at both theaters in the 1940s, as a cashier for IGA on Main Street in the late 1950s, as a cashier at Liberty Foods in the 1970s and early 1980s and for Diet Workshop in the late 1980s.

She enjoys reading and playing solitaire with mini-cards and continues to play canasta, filling in on a team as she is needed.
