HOUSTON — Betty Leist will celebrate her 90th birthday at an open house, Sept. 16, 2017, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Houston Community Center, 5005 Russia-Houston Road, Houston.
She requests that gifts be omitted.
Leist was born, Sept. 16, 1927, in Piqua, the daughter of Catherine and George Jones, who are now deceased. She married Donald Leist, who is deceased. She has a living daughter, Brenda Gibson, of Sidney. Two other daughters, Donna Stein and Patricia Pleiman, are deceased. She has seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Leist has been a tireless worker on her farm and throughout the community in many organizations. She has spent many evenings in the Houston Community Center building because she was quite active there.
