SIDNEY — Megan and Douglas Knapke, of Sidney, have announced the birth of a son, Maxwell Steven Knapke, born April 25, 2017, at 5:07 p.m., in the Upper Valley Medical Center, in Troy.

He weighed 9 pounds, 7 ounces, and was 21 inches long.

He was welcomed home by his brother, Henry Knapke, 1.

His maternal grandparents are Dorothy and Tom Gariety, of Russia. His paternal grandparents are Lois Knapke, of Yorkshire, the late Steven Knapke.

His great-grandmother is Esther Gariety, of Russia.

His mother is the former Megan Gariety.
