SIDNEY — Jill Marie Hamaker and Mark Edward Platfoot, both of Sidney, have announced their engagement and plans to marry, Nov. 4, 2017, in the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Teresa and Jim Hamaker, of Sidney. She graduated from Sidney High School in 1999 and from Wright State University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in education and in 2008 with a Master of Science in education. She is employed by Troy Christian Elementary School as a teacher.

Her fiance is the son of Cindy and Frank Platfoot, of Jackson Center. He is a 2002 Jackson Center High School graduate and a 2007 graduate of the Ohio State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in education. He is employed by Hardin-Houston Local Schools as a teacher.
