Couple wed in Dayton

MORROW — Morgan Lou Schmitmeyer and David Darrell Barham, both of Morrow, were united in marriage, Oct. 5, 2018, in the Top of the Market in Dayton.

The bride is the daughter of Luann and Thomas Schmitmeyer, of Jackson Center. Her grandparents are Mary Ann Schmitmeyer, of Fort Loramie, and the late Roger Schmitmeyer and the late Connie and Jack Comer.

The bridegroom is the son of Juanita and Darrell Barham, of Jackson Center. His grandparents are Anna Rodgers, of Sidney, and the later George Rodgers and the late Iva Jean and Jesse Barham Jr.

Darrell Barham, father of the bridegroom, performed the ceremony.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an Allure Romance, ivory-colored gown with ornate lace over charmeuse mermaid with a sweetheart bodice, an illusion lace, scoop neckline framed with illusion straps, an illusion back accented with covered-button closures, a scalloped hemline and a chapel train. She wore Kate Spade sela heels in navy glitter and an English tulle veil with lace appliques and a cut edge. She carried a bouquet of cascading burgundy garden roses, Playa Blanca roses, burgundy and ivory spray roses, astilbe, wine dahlias, veronica and seeded eucalyptus.

Kandis Sargeant was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Danielle Podlaski, Taylor Rector and Chelsea Lawrence. Parker Mossman, niece of the bridegroom, was the flower girl.

The attendants wore Vera Wang, midnight blue dresses featuring sequined bodices, illusion backs and flowing, slit, chiffon skirts. They carried bouquets of burgundy garden roses, Playa Blanca roses, burgundy and ivory spray roses, astilbe, wine dahlias, veronica and seeded eucalyptus.

The flower girl wore a sleeveless, gold-colored dress with a matching satin sash, Kate Spade Keds New York Kick glitter sneakers in navy and a crown of roses and other flowers.

Joshua Mossman served as his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Levi Schmitmeyer, brother of the bride, Matthew Tussing and Steven Dearwester.

The mother of the bride wore a long, sequin-embellished, pleated gown in navy. The short-sleeved dress had all-over sequins, mesh godet panels on the skirt, a sash belt and keyhole opening at the back.

The mother of the bridegroom wore a navy, beaded jacket dress. The sheer jacket featured an open front and three-quarter sleeves. The ankle-length dress had beading on the front, a slightly fitted bodice and godet pleats.

Both mothers wore wrist corsages of roses and other flowers.

A reception in the Top of the Market followed the ceremony.

The couple reside in Morrow.

The bride is a 2012 graduate of Lehman Catholic High School and a 2017 graduate of the University of Cincinnati, where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority and earned a Bachelor of Science in medical laboratory science. She is employed by Tri Health-Good Samaritan of Cincinnati as a medical laboratory scientist.

The bridegroom graduated from Jackson Center High School in 2012 and from University of Cincinnati in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in information technology. He is employed by Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America in Mason as a business systems analyst.

The couple met when they were students at Jackson Center Middle School. They were junior high sweethearts.
