SIDNEY — The Shelby County OSU Alumni Association will team up with the Farm Bureau Women’s Committee and Community Blood Center to co-sponsor the second annual “Shelby County Buckeye Blood Drive” Tuesday, Nov. 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., at American Legion Post 217, 1265 N. Fourth St., Sidney.
Donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment online at www.DonorTime.com or call 1-800-388-GIVE.
Everyone who registers to donate will receive the “Get in the Game For Life” football T-shirt and the Farm Bureau Women’s Committee will serve hot sandwiches and homemade cookies in the Donor Cafe. Super fans Larry “OSU Buckeyeman” Lokai and “Tress” look-a-like Dennis Singleton will return as special guests of the blood drive.
“OSU Buckeyeman” is a celebrity cheerleader seen often at nationally-televised Buckeye games in his trademark red face paint, wild scarlet-and-gray wig and massive mane of Buckeye necklaces. “Tress” traditionally turns heads for his uncanny resemblance to former Buckeyes football coach Jim Tressel.
