WAYNESFIELD — The Auglaize County Historical Society will host its third quarter membership meeting on Thusday, Aug. 13, at 7 p.m. at White Memorial Library, Waynesfield. After a brief business meeting, historical society member and historian Brea Quellhorst will present “Lakes of Stew and of Whiskey Too,” a review of the Great Depression in story and song. The event is open to the public. The White Memorial Library is located at 108 East Wapakoneta Street in Waynesfield.

The title for Quellhorst’s presentation is derived from the song “Big Rock Candy Mountain,” which was popular during the Depression era.

“Brea is an enthusiastic and energetic local historian. We’re pleased to support her interest in history and look forward to an entertaining evening,” said Historical Society Administractor Rachel Barber.
