Houston Assn. needs trustees

HOUSTON — The Houston Community Association elected two trustees, re-elected three and announced a need for three more during its annual dinner meeting, Feb. 1.

Mike and Patricia Curl were elected to the board of the association. Jack Curl, Phil Cozad and Patty Cotterman were re-elected. All will serve three-year terms. Jason Curl is also a trustee.

It was announced that anyone interested in a trusteeship should attend the next meeting, scheduled for March 1.

Houston Fire Department Chief Jeff Poeppelman reported that the department has 14 members and needs more. He said the squad made 30 runs and completed 250 hours of training in 2016.

During the ensuing organizational meeting, Cotterman assumed the role of president and Cozad was elected vice president.

Cozad reported that the final pizza night of the season will be March 3 and a fundraising dinner will be March 19.

It was announced that bid packets are available for people interested in applying to do lawn care or snow removal or to serve as custodian or rental agent.

The next meeting will be March 1.
