SIDNEY — The Middletown man arrested following a high speed pursuit that ended in Sidney was indicted by a grand jury in the Shelby County Court of Common Pleas, Thursday, Aug. 3.

Kenneth Heaton, 46, was indicted on charges of felonious assault and failure to comply with police order. Heaton allegedly fled northbound from police on Interstate 75 in Piqua when he intentionally hit State Highway Patrolman Athony Guajardo’s fully marked patrol car, causing physical harm.

During the ensuing pursuit, several attempts were made to disable Heaton’s vehicle through the use of tire deflation devices, but traffic limited the deployment of these devices.
