St. Remy’s receives platinum CBC award

DAYTON, Ohio – St. Remy’s Hall in Russia will host its summer community blood drive Tuesday, Aug. 15, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 101 Remy St. Everyone who registers to donate will receive the Community Blood Center “Scouting 4 Donors – Ride with Passion, Give with Heart” T-shirt. Donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment online at www.DonorTime.com or call 800-388-GIVE.

St. Remy’s Hall hosts two blood drive per year and is part of a rotation of Shelby County’s largest community blood drives, including apheresis machines for platelet and plasma donations. In 2016 the April and August St. Remy’s blood drives totaled 378 donors, 356 whole blood donations and 23 apheresis donations for 100 percent of collection goals.

CBC presented the Platinum award in the LifeSaving Ambassadors Club, the highest award for blood drive excellence, to blood drive coordinators Carl and Betty York.

It’s open throttle for the “Scouting 4 Donors Summer Blood Drive” as it rides into the final month of summer. Everyone who registers to donate is automatically entered in the drawing to win an Indian Scout Sixty motorcycle. Donors must be 18 by the Sept. 2 conclusion of the campaign to win.

Until the campaign finish line on Sept. 2, everyone who registers to donate will receive the “Scouting 4 Donors – Ride with Passion, Give with Heart” T-shirt.

The “Ride with Passion, Give with Heart” T-shirt is green and the design features a motorcycle engine in the shape of a heart with the CBC blood drop logo.
