Civic association hears from coaches

MINSTER — Minster Local Schools coaches Jim Stubbs, Cami Garman, Larry Topp and Jessie Magoto addressed the Minster Civic Association during a meeting, Sept. 26, in the Oak Tree.

They updated attendees on the fall sports programs.

In other business, the association:

• Awarded grants in the amounts of $750 to the Minster Historical Society, $5,000 to the Minster Fire Department, $5,000 to the Minster Rescue Squad, $3,000 to the Minster School System for a monitor to be used in the commons area and $6,000 to the YMCA.

• Reminded members to use smile.amazon.com when making Amazon purchases to support the Minster Civic Association.

• Announced that the annual Citizen of the Year Dance hosted by the Civic Association will be Jan. 27.

• Noted that the Minster Civic Association is looking for an individual to represent the association on the board of the Minster Community Fund. This would require meeting four times a year and performing secretarial duties.

The next meeting of the Minster Civic Association will be at the Wooden Shoe, Oct. 31. The program will include an election preview presented by Wes Farno of 29:11 Strategies.
