Local businesses named award finalists

DAYTON — For the past 16 years, the Dayton Business Journal has annually selected Dayton region Businesses of the Year in multiple categories.

Before announcing the winners at a black-tie gala at the Schuster Center each November, the organization names finalists for each category.

Three businesses with local ties were recently named among the four finalists in the Manufacturing Business of the Year category out of 104 entries:

• Emerson Climate Technologies, with its division offices in Sidney, is a leading provider of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration solutions.

• Superior Aluminum Products in Russia is an industry leader in the manufacturing of aluminum railings, columns and fence.

• Midmark Corp. is corporately located in Dayton with a large manufacturing presence in Versailles. Midmark is a manufacturer of medical, dental and veterinary equipment and technologies.

These three locally-tied companies are joined by Prime Controls, located in Kettering, to make up the four category finalists.

These finalists were selected by a combination of the Dayton Business Journal staff and a panel of guest judges made up of executives from Dayton-area companies.

All finalists will be brought on stage to receive an award at this year’s banquet, Nov. 16, with the category winners to be announced during the gala.
