Versailles to host robotics competition

VERSAILLES — Versailles High School will host a First Lego League regional robotics tournament at 11 a.m., Nov. 11.

The public is welcome to watch 20 teams compete. Area schools who will field teams include Hardin-Houston, Fort Loramie, Russia, Christian Academy, Botkins and New Bremen.

Before the contest opens to the public, competitors will be judge on robot design, project and teamwork and good sportsmanship. The public will watch robot games, during which teams compete in three, 2 1/2-minute matches.

The highest-scoring teams will advance to district competition at Bowling Green State University in January. Top district teams will meet each other in the state championship games at Wright State University in February and winners there will compete in the 2018 world festival in Detroit in April.
