The first baby of 2018 was born at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys on Monday, Jan. 1, 2018 at 4:24 p.m. Elijah John Knouff, son of Shannon and Josh Knouff, of St. Henry, weighed 9 pounds, 7 ounces and was 21 inches long. The maternal grandparents are Jim and Cher Puthoff, of St. Henry. Paternal grandparents are Terry and Cece Kremer, of Celina, and paternal grandfather, Jerry Knouff, deceased. The New Year’s baby born at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital receives a case of diapers, wipes, formula, a handmade blanket and $100 from the hospital.
