Houston Association needs two trustees

HOUSTON — The Houston Community Association convened its annual meeting, Feb. 7.

Approximately 30 members and people from the community attended. Prayer was offered by Chris Geise, pastor of the Houston Church. A potluck dinner was enjoyed by all in attendance.

Outgoing president Patty Cotterman asked if there were any nominations from the group for two trustees. No one volunteered, so the association is looking for two people from the community to serve three-year terms as trustees. Interested people should attend the monthly meeting, March 7, at 8 p.m.

Bid packets are ready for distribution to people who are interested in bidding for the following paying positions: snow removal, lawn maintenance, janitor and rental agent. To submit a packet, contact Phil Cozad, Patty Cotterman, Mike or Tricia Curl, Dianne or Allen Francis or Zach Wones.

Cozad informed the group about recent improvements to the building, including painting, replacing ceiling tiles, chair rail trim, door handles and general updating. The volunteers responsible were Angela and Phil Cozad, Barry and Jan Wolfe, Stephanie, Emily and Cierra Cozad, Marchell Leichty, Art Ayers, Jill Jolly, and Allen Francis.

The next and last Friday night pizza night until October will be March 2 at 5 p.m.

The annual Chicken or Beef Homemade Noodle Dinner will be March 11 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Door prizes donated by local businesses were awarded.
