SIDNEY — The Shelby County Board of Developmental Disabilities hosted people with developmental disabilities from seven counties for a regional advocacy meeting and training session recently.

People supported by the boards of Logan, Miami, Champaign, Auglaize, Shelby, Preble and Darke counties participated in peer-to-peer substance-abuse training led by Mary Baker, from the Darke County Board of Developmental Disabilities staff.

Sidney Police officers Kevin Macke and Aaron Wesbecher spoke about their jobs as police detectives.

Representatives of the Board of Elections discussed the importance of voting and marijuana issues that could be on upcoming ballots.
