Helmlinger to chair agency on aging

DAYTON — The Area Agency on Aging, PSA 2 Advisory Council has elected a Sidney resident as its chairperson f0r 2017-2018.

Dr. Molly Helmlinger has served as a Shelby County representative on the council since 2012 and also serves as a leader of the agency’s Healthy U program.

She is president and executive consultant of Spirit Lead Consulting LLC, specializing in systemic evaluation of educational organizations. Her Shelby County service also includes being secretary of the Coalition on Aging; vice president of American Association of University Women (AAUW); president of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Darke, Miami and Shelby Counties; leader/facilitator of NAMI Family to Family Support Group and NAMI Caring for the Young Mind Support Group; and Retired Teachers Association treasurer. In addition, she is state finance officer of AAUW and president of Delta Kappa Gamma International Society, Beta Kappa Gamma Chapter.

The Area Agency on Aging, PSA 2 helps older and disabled adults of west central Ohio remain in their homes with independence and dignity. The agency is an independent, private, nonprofit corporation that plans and funds services for older persons in Champaign, Clark, Darke, Greene, Logan, Miami, Montgomery, Preble and Shelby counties.
