SIDNEY — The Rotary Club of Sidney will host its 13th annual pancake breakfast, Saturday, Sept. 9, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., on the northeast corner of the courtsquare in downtown Sidney.
Chris Cakes Chef Matt will flip pancakes on to customers’ plates for their enjoyment. The menu includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage and apple topping, coffee and orange drink. The breakfast precedes the Taste of the Market, which is in conjunction with the weekly farmer’s market around the courtsquare.
The breakfast proceeds support Rotary Club of Sidney scholarships to Shelby County graduating seniors; various youth academic contests and sponsor students to leadership conferences. The Rotary Club donates books to area schools and libraries and sponsors a Christmas party for children with special needs. Rotary provides smoke detectors to the fire department for distribution and supports many community service activities. This year the club will also be selling Pinwheels for Peace during the breakfast, which will help the local club participate in a district-wide Rotary program to promote peace.
