SIDNEY — The Shelby County Coin Club will offer free coin and bank note appraisals, Tuesday, Oct. 3, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., in the Community Room of the Amos Memorial Public Library, 230 E. North St.

Several professional coin dealers ae members of the Shelby County Coin Club. They have donated their time to offer the appraisals. No offers will be made to purchase what has been appraised during this event. However, owners may contact dealers privately at a later date to discuss possible purchases.

“People may be surprised to learn even some of he coins they receive inpocket change can have value,” said Jeffy Tangeman, president of the coin club.

There is no limit to the number of coins that can be examined, Tuesday. U.S. and foreign coins, bank notes, tokens and medals can be appraised. Appraisals will be provided in writing.

“This is a great opportunity for us to reach out into the community, perhaps interesting some people in collecting coins,” Tangeman said.
