SIDNEY — Families of Addicts Sidney will have a special meeting, Oct. 26, that will feature two presentations.

The meeting will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Amos Memorial Library, 230 E. North St. It is open to the public.

The focus will be on educating parents about drug use. The Tri-County Board of Recovery and Mental Health Services will present Hidden In Plain Sight, a look-alike bedroom to show where teens may be hiding drugs and what parents should look for. In addition, a presenter from Start Talking, a program that teaches parents how to talk to younger children about drugs, will speak. This will be an educational night for the community.

FOA rebuilds families and transforms lives through education, empowerment and embracing. Through weekly meetings in various Ohio counties, navigation, one-on-one phone support and outreach opportunities, FOA is a sought-after and respected resource in the Miami Valley. FOA is unique because it provides support for the entire family and advocates for individuals to find their faces and voices, which is key to eliminating the stigma associated with addiction.
