Rotary Club hears from insurance agent

SIDNEY — State Farm agent Ashley Himes addressed the members of the Sidney Rotary Club during their weekly luncheon, Oct. 30.

State Farm is a family-focused insurance and financial service office that specializes in auto, fire, life and health insurance, she said. She particularly likes to work with local, small business owners. Himes said she is considered self-employed, so she understands the struggles and has a lot of support for entrepreneurs.

She has a team of five working at her agency, all Sidney natives. They are Ginger Reck, Kellie Harlett, Jessica Hammaker, Belinda Wical and Ashley’s husband, Rolly Himes. She and Rolly live in Sidney with their three children.

Ashley took over the agencies of Bob Schweitzer and Earl Vance and said she is very blessed to have such a great opportunity in such a great community. She chose Sidney out of a few agency opportunities because she was impressed with what the community had to offer for raising a family and the exciting history of the area.

She sees the role of the State Farm agent as being a pillar in the community, someone who is honest and caring; someone who puts service before self.
