SIDNEY — Altrusa International of Sidney has received notice that the club has been awarded a grant by Altrusa International Foundation, headquartered in Chicago.

Grant Coordinator Missy Rivera said that Sidney’s Altrusa Club received $2,000 to support the Little Red Caboose Program in conjunction with Shelby County Libraries and the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. The Little Red Caboose Program will honor children who have graduated from the Imagination Library program, which sends books once a month to kids from birth to age 5.

The first Little Red Caboose ceremony for kids and their parents will be Jan. 9 and include a tour of the library, certificate, tote and light refreshments. Two more ceremonies will be in the first and second quarters of 2018.
