Library announces programs

SIDNEY — To help with the wintertime blues, the Amos Memorial Public Library, 230 E. North St., is offering an assortment of programs for adults.

On Monday evenings, there will be a movie night featuring new releases, including “Stronger,” on Jan. 15, “The Mountain Between Us,” on Jan. 22 and “Battle of the Sexes” on Jan. 29, all at 6 p.m. On Feb. 5, the Monday Night Movie will feature “Marshall.” All films will be shown in the community room on the new, extra-large movie screen.

In addition, there will be knitting classes on Monday evenings, Jan. 15, 22, 29 and Feb. 5, at 5:30 p.m. Janet Langley will teach knitting in the lower-level meeting room. All participants will learn to make a winter hat while learning the basics. The program is free, and registration is required as class size is limited.

On Saturday, Feb. 17, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Community Room, the library will host a jigsaw puzzle competition. Prizes will be awarded for the first three teams to complete the puzzle. National Jigsaw Puzzle month event will be in the community room and registration is required.

Ohio Heart String Art craft program will be Feb. 6 at 6 p.m. A $5 fee to cover cost of supplies is due at registration. Participants are asked to take their own hammers. All other supplies will be provided.
