Easton withdraws as 85th District candidate

Dave Easton, of Sidney, has withdrawn as a candidate for 85th District state representative.Easton, a candidate for the Constitution Party, said Thursday he was withdrawing for “personal reasons.” Easton said he “would like to thank those who have provided encouragement and support.”Easton had earlier sent a letter to the Champaign County Board of Elections announcing his withdrawal from the race.Kathy Meyer, director of the Champaign County elections board, said Easton’s name will be on the Nov. 4 general election ballot, but she said notices will be posted that votes for him will not be counted.
