ANNA — Anna entered Thursday game unbeaten in the County at 4-0 and was taking on a winless Fairlawn team at home.No contest, right?Well, the Lady Jets had other ideas, and forced the game into extra innings before the Lady Rockets avoided a huge upset with a run in the bottom of the ninth for a 7-6 victory.The win kept Anna perfect in the league at 5-0 and put the Lady Rockets 11-3. Fairlawn is 0-10.“Fairlawn really played well,” said Anna coach Tim McMahon. “They made play after play.”

Sidney sweeps team titles at Stebbins

DAYTON — It was an outstanding day for the Sidney High boys and girls track teams Wednesday night at the Stebbins Invitational.The girls rolled up 191.5 points to win by nearly a hundred over runner-up Northmont in the eight-team meet.And the Yellow Jacket boys held on with 148.5 points to edge runner-up Stebbins with 144 in a meet that featured nine teams.Highlighting the girls performance were six first-place finishes by five different Lady Jackets.

Tractor crash claims 14-year-old
