National Day of Prayer planned for May 3

SIDNEY — Organizers have been busy planning a celebration of the National Day of Prayer in Sidney. Thursday May 3, is the National Day of Prayer.

Shelby County will celebrate the day with a Prayer on the Square gathering on the historic Shelby County Courthouse lawn. This noon to 1 p.m. assembly will feature inspirational remarks from local leaders and a key note presentation by Mark Burd, chairman for reviveOHIO and a missionary for Time to Revive.

Music at this National Day of Prayer celebration will be performed by a combined high school choir comprised of representatives from Anna, Lehman, Christian Academy, Jackson Center and Sidney high schools.

In the event of inclement weather, the Shelby County National Day of Prayer celebration will be moved to the First Presbyterian Church, 202 N. Miami Ave. in downtown Sidney.

The National Day of Prayer celebration in Shelby County is a nondenominational event and the public is invited to attend.
