UPS truck burns on interstate

A Botkins Fire Department firefighter sprays the wreckage of a UPS truck that caught fire along southbound Interstate 75 near the 104-mile marker at about 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 23. Anna Rescue and the Ohio State Highway Patrol also responded. The truck driver escaped unharmed. The fire spread to grass along the highway. That fire also was extinguished. The Piqua Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that the patrol was notified by the Ohio Department of Transportation that the truck was aflame. The cab, trailer and a dolly attached at the back were completely demolished. The truck had departed from the Toledo UPS hub. No other information was available at press time.
