SIDNEY — The Shelby County Agricultural Society voted at its Feb. 17 meeting to contract with Ashley Swiger to manage the cheerleading competition at the 2016 Shelby County Fair.
She will be paid $1,200 plus $25 per team over 10.
In other business, the fair board:
• Voted to support the grandstand fundraising with individual pledges rather than with monies provided members’ as meal allowance or compensation for meeting attendance.
• Heard a report by Erin Gaerke, president, and Madison Allison, vice president of the 2016 Junior Fair Board about the 2016 Ohio Fair Managers Convention.
• Learned that the Buckeye Antique Farm Show has booked the fairgrounds for May 26-28.
• Approved the purchase of six trees for $1,000.
• Heard a report by Matt Henman that the Oscar Meyer family will donate $2,000 for a memorial horse race at the 2016 fair.
