Dems re-elect officers

SIDNEY — The Shelby County Democratic Central Committee and Executive Committee have elected officers.

Thomas W. Kerrigan II was re-elected chairman; Merrill Asher was re-elected vice chairman and Maureen O’Keefe was re-elected secretary/treasurer. They will serve two-year terms.

Kerrigan, a senior managing partner of Kerrigan, Boller, Bauer & Link Co. L.P.A., has practiced trial and probate law for more than 32 years. He was an assistant county prosecutor for 28 years. Kerrigan graduaed from Lehman Catholic High School in 1974, from Miami University in 1978, and from Ohio Northern University Law School in 1981. He serves as an assistant soccer coach at Lehman and is a member of Shelby County Right to Life. Kerrigan is married to theformer Pamela Schmiesing and they have three children.

Asher has served on the Shelby County Board of Elections for eight years. He also sits on the Public Employees Retirement Inc. Board of Trustees. He is a past member of the Sidney City Schools Board of Education and was a Sidney councilman for 28 years. He and his wife, Ann, have a son.

O’Keefe is a museum storage/inventory and control sales associate at the Dayton Art Institute. She graduated from Lehman Catholic High School in 1998 and from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2005. She has been an art instructor at Edison Community College and currently leads a Daisy/Brownie Girl Scout troop in Shelby County. She and her husband, Dylan, have two daughters.
