Commissioners handle bids

SIDNEY — During recent meetings, the Shelby County commissioners have handled routine business concerning bids for various projects.

They awarded a bid for the 2015 highway paint-striping program to A & A Safety, of Amelia, for $81,568.95. They authorized advertising for bids, which will be opened Aug. 6 at 11 a.m., for the standpipe tank mixing and Fair Haven WWTP improvement project and bids, which will be opened Aug. 11 at 11 a.m., for the Shelby County Jail water controls project.

They opened bids for the courthouse square paint and concrete projects and took them under advisement; the paint project until July 28 and the concrete project until July 21.

In other business, the commissioners:

• Discussed lease arrangements for the building housing S&H Products with the Board of Developmental Disabilities.

• Authorized a $480,000 payment to ESG for courthouse work, which should be complete in September.

• Entered into a contract for $22,763.88 with the Ohio Department of Health for coordination of goods and services for Help Me Grow.

• Issued a proclamation recognizing the 175th anniversary of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sidney.

• Approved a Job and Family Services subgrant agreement with JobWorks for an amount not to exceed $50,000.
