PIQUA — A 3-year-old boy was injured after falling from the second story of an apartment building on South Downing Street on Thursday afternoon, according to reports from the Piqua Police Department.

The youngster, whose name has not yet been released, is said to have been pulling a stroller up a flight of stairs located on the side of a two-story apartment building in the 200 block of South Downing Street at 1:39 p.m. Thursday, when he slipped under the railing of the stairs and fell 8-10 feet to the ground.

According to reports, the child’s face was bleeding and he was transported by CareFlight to Dayton Children’s Hospital. His condition was unknown as of Thursday evening.

The incident is under investigation by Piqua Police.
