The Historic Sidney Theatre Announces 2016 Summer Film Series

SIDNEY — Since the 1920s, many area residents can recall their favorite memories of the Historic Sidney Theatre, the smell and sound of fresh popping popcorn is at the top of the list. It was just too hard to resist a box of that warm, buttery treat before settling in to watch a new Hollywood blockbuster.

“We want to rekindle that tradition in the 21st century at the Historic Sidney Theatre with our Summer Nights Film Series June 9th – August 11th sponsored by the DP&L Foundation,” said Sarah Barr, executive director of Raise the Roof for the Arts/Historic Sidney Theatre.

Tickets are available for purchase beginning at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. The price for a series pass is $15. Individual tickets are $3 and available day-of-show at the Historic Sidney Theatre box office, beginning 30 minutes prior to show time. Series Passes are available through the Historic Sidney Theatre website www.sidneytheatre.org or by phone at 937-498-1921.

“Join us each Thursday evening starting at 7:30 p.m. to catch an old favorites on the silver screen in downtown Sidney,” said Barr.

June 9, “National Lampoon’s Vacation”

June 16, “Psycho”

June 23, “Casablanca”

June 30, “Jaws”

July 7, “Flash Gordon”

July 14, “Shaun of the Dead”

July 21, “Major League”

July 28, “The Shining”

Aug. 4, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”

Aug. 11, “The Big Lebowski”
