JC FCCLA advances to nationals

COLUMBUS — Members of the Jackson Center FCCLA, a satellite program of the Upper Valley Career Center, recently attended the Ohio FCCLA State Leadership Conference in Columbus, Ohio, at the Ohio Expo Center.

While in attendance members attended workshops, attended session, heard from keynote speakers and participated in competition. The chapter took 15 members to the meeting. Among those attending were members of various competition teams. The teams were presented their ratings and awards at Friday’s award session. Jackson Center teams were as follows:

Outstanding Chapter Team: Courtney Gasson, Kelsea Jones and Cameron Ross earning a Gold

Entrepreneurship, Sr.: Abby Dickman, Miranda Hickey and Camryn Hoehne earning a SIlver rating

Chapter Service Manual Jr.: Katie Clark and Kennedy Jackson earning a Gold and third place overall in the state

Illustrated Talk Jr.: Reese Tooke and Ryan West earning a Gold and third place overall in the state

Ohio FCCLA State Degree, highest honor, was awarded to Courtney Gasson as 6 year member and chapter president of JC FCCLA.

The following teams qualified for the National FCCLA Leadership Meeting to be held July 3 to 7 in San Diego, California, this summer:

Food Innovations Jr.: Regan Davidson and Hope Booser earned gold and second place overall in the state.

Chapter Service Manual Sr.: Andrea Allenbaugh and Emme Farley earned a gold and second overall in the state

Chapter Service Display Sr.: Peyton Esser and Courtney Gasson earned a gold and first place overall in the state
