SIDNEY — Piano students of Kathleen Jendrusik, owner of Ka-Jens Piano Studio in Sidney and chairman of the Sidney chapter of the National Piano Guild of the American College of Musicians, recently performed in Sidney in the guild auditions.
Susan Dean, of Waldo, was the adjudicator.
The highest honor given by the guild is the superior-top talent circle rating, and two students achieved this honor: Grace Francis, daughter of Donna and Russell Francis, of Versailles; and Nobel Zhou, son of Lan Bai and Jianyou Zhou, of Sidney.
Students receiving superior-plus ratings were Keagan Smith, son of Karen and Doug Smith, Martha Chrisman, daughter of Heather and Joseph Chrisman, Liliana Phillips, daughter of Sonya and Keith Phillips, Liz Michael, daughter of Beth and Scott Michael, all of Sidney; Lucy Prakel, daughter of Christy and Mike Prakel, and Katelyn Meyer, daughter of Jenny and Matt Meyer, all of Versailles; MaKenzie Knore, daughter of Susan and Lee Knore, of Bradford; Maria Wiseman, daughter of Paula and Richard Wiseman, and Meredith Klein, daughter of Sarah and Eric Klein, all of Anna; Brooklyn Jackson, daughter of Nichole and Shane Jackson, of Troy.

Students were judged on accuracy, continuity, phrasing, pedaling, dynamics, rhythm, tempo, tone, interpretation, style and technique. Each student received a certificate, a pin, a report card and a year’s membership in the National Fraternity of Student Musicians of the American College of Musicians.
