VERSAILLES — Versailles Poultry Days Inc. has announced that 10 women will vie for the title of Miss Chick 2015.

The contest, sponsored by Versailles Savings & Loan, will take place June 12 and 13, beginning with personal interviews at noon, Friday, and the onstage interview beginning at 2 p.m., Saturday, in the old VHS High School gymnasium.

Members of the Miss Chick court promote the festival throughout their reign acting as ambassadors to the Ultimate Frisbee community that participates in the tournament in conjunction with the festival and at several other local festivals.

In addition to the honor of representing Poultry Days during their reign, the 2015 court will also enjoy the largest cash prize offered in the contest’s history. The chosen Miss Chick will receive flowers, a plaque, crown and $400; first runner-up will receive flowers, a plaque, and $200; and second runner-up will receive flowers, a plaque, and $150.

Contestants will be judged on appearance, clothing, poise, ability to speak, platform presence, and the personal interview.

The contestants are Morgan Turpen, daughter of Paula and Andrew Turpen, sponsored by Encore!; Shayla Bertke, daughter of Sharon and Mark Bertke, sponsored by Performance Powder Coating; Megan Marchal, daughter of Elaine and Mark Marchal, sponsored by Mike’s Montes; Lauren Monnin, daughter of Jodi and Ron Bohman and Dan Monnin, sponsored by Versailles Lady Tigers Basketball; Meladi Brewer, daughter of Tracy and James Brewer, sponsored by Brewer Electrical Sales & Services; Rachel Osterloh, daughter of Sharon and Luke Osterloh, sponsored by Versailles FFA; Malinda Barlage, daughter of Kris and Tony Barlage, sponsored by Patterson Patchers 4-H Club; Christa Puthoff, daughter of Marlene and Steve Puthoff, sponsored by St. Denis Youth Ministry; Abbey Marshal, daughter of Beth and Jeff Marshal, sponsored by Versailles Feed Mill; Taylor Stover, daughter of Julie and Eric Stover, sponsored by Pohl Transportation Inc.
