SIDNEY — A Sidney woman was killed in a one-vehicle crash early Sunday morning.

According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Kristi M. Clark, 46, of Sidney, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Shelby County Coroner.

At 12:47 a.m. Sunday deputies and rescue personnel were dispatched to the 2000 block of Riverside Drive on the report of a single-vehicle injury crash. The preliminary investigation shows a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer had been traveling westbound on Riverside Drive, west of Sidney Freyburg Road in Sidney.

The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a guard rail. The vehicle then traveled across the roadway and struck another guard rail, at which time Clark was partially ejected from the vehicle.

Both speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash, reported the Sheriff’s Office.

Port Jefferson Rescue and Port Jefferson Fire Department were dispatched to the scene.

Funeral arrangements are pending with the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, DeGraff.

The accident remains under investigation.
