Niagara seeks contest photos

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – Niagara Tourism & Convention Corp. (NTCC) has announced a summer photo contest.

The public can submit Instagram or digital photos on Twitter, using the tag #ExploreNiagaraUSA or upload them directly on Facebook.

Entries should capture summertime fun in Niagara County — the great outdoors, iconic attractions, wine and food and accommodations. Snaps of the Niagara USA landscape will qualify as well.

NTCC will select winners based on creativity. All photos must be submitted via @NiagaraFallsUSA Instagram or Twitter accounts, by tagging #ExploreNiagaraUSA or by uploading directly on Facebook. Creativity should not be limited to the photos. NTCC has encouraged participants to include appropriate hashtags that describe what they saw, such as #creativeclicks, #lovethelocks, or #capturethecataract. Photos can be viewed on Facebook under the same handle. One winner chosen weekly, for three weeks, and will receive a GoPro Hero camera. One grand prize winner will be selected on Aug. 21 and be awarded with a Nikon D3200 Digital SLR.

The “Explore Niagara USA Fun Photo Contest” is open to visitors and locals. Winning entries will be published online with acknowledgements. Photos may be submitted until Aug. 21. Contest participants must be 18 or older. Submitters permit NTCC to use the image in promotion materials in any medium.

“Summer will end before we know it, but it can live on in photos. We want to see what summer in Niagara USA means to our visitors and residents. Show us a scenic shot from the countryside or something wonderfully wacky and weird,” said John Percy, NTCC president and CEO. “Niagara County is home to a Wonder of the World, gorgeous sunsets, one-of-a-kind attractions, delicious eateries and so much more. Show us what summer in Niagara USA means to you with a photo from your vacation or ‘staycation.’”
