BELLEFONTAINE — The newly-formed Logan County Vets to D.C. organization met Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 7 p.m. The meeting was held at the Logan County Solid Waste Recycling Center, 1100 S Detroit St., with 25 people in attendance.

Organizer Scott Stewart talked about serving on the Shelby County Vets to D.C. Committee for several years and the history of how the Shelby County group was started. A Logan County chapter is being organized to be able to provide the same opportunities for veterans in the Logan County area. This was an informal meeting to discuss different aspects of the upcoming trip to Washington D.C. in May 2016.

Those present discussed different ways to become involved as a volunteer or as a veteran on the trip. All those in attendance were excited about this project and many are willing to help in any capacity.

“We are very excited about the upcoming trip and are still in need of anyone wishing to support this trip in anyway,” said Stewart.

Anyone interested are invited to attend our next meeting which will be held Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 7 p.m., 1100 S. Detroit St., Bellefontaine. Any questions about the trip or how to become a volunteer can contact Stewart at [email protected] or 937-407-6766.
