SIDNEY — The Sidney Planning Commission Monday night recommended approval of a lot replat and also named a member to serve on a committee to update the city’s comprehensive plan.

The commission recommended that Sidney City Council approve a request by Philip and Mary Wethington to replat one lot and vacate street right of way to create one new lot at 501 E. Monroe St. This property is located at the western terminus of Monroe Street. The purpose of this replat to combine the existing lots and vacated right of way and vacate interior lot lines.

Community Services Director Barbara Dulworth asked the commission to chose a member to serve on the steering committee for the comprehensive plan update. Steve Klingler volunteered for the job, and the commission voted to ratify his appointment.

Called “Imagine Sidney 2025!” the plan creates a framework for the development of future public policy, especially in regard to land use, transportation, community facilities, utilities and economic development, Dulworth said in a letter to the commission.
