Duane Mullen a former Airforce Sgt., of Sidney, uses oil pastels to draw an image from a photo he took on SonTra (Monkey Mountain) while he was stationed in Vietnam in 1967. The drawing is of a guard tower in June looking out over the South China Sea as the sun rises. Mullen drew the image as part of this years Bad Art By Good People put on by the Gateway Arts Council. This year U.S. veterans were asked to create works of art that will be auctioned off. The art will be on display at the Vietnam Memorial Wall when it comes to Sidney.
