One in jail following alleged OD

TROY — A Sidney man is in the Miami County Jail and a woman lucky to be alive following an incident on County Road 25A on Wednesday afternoon.

Troy medics and Miami County deputies were dispatched to the area of Twin Arch Park around 1:30 p.m. on the report of a possible drug overdose.

Medics arrived to find an adult female displaying possible symptoms of a narcotics overdose but she was awake and breathing upon their arrival.

Witnesses said that a van, occupied by a male driver and female passenger pulled over to the side of the road on Co. Rd. 25A and said that the female had allegedly overdosed. A private ambulance crew was at Twin Arch Park and immediately called 9-1-1.

According to deputies, the female refused treatment by medics.

The driver of the vehicle, Stewart Hoover, 40, of Sidney, was taken into custody and will face narcotics charges as well as possible charges relating to parole violations.

Evidence of drug abuse was found in the vehicle. At this time, the female is not charged with a crime.
