Tootie the Traveling Tutu’d Turkey went to the Alpha Community Center this week to take inventory in the food pantry. The shelves are looking pretty bare, and Jan Geuy, director, reported that many food orders will be going out this week. Please consider participating in the Thanksgiving morning 10th Annual Turkey Trot 5K Race to End Hunger and help restock these shelves! Go to www.sidneyfirstpres.org and register today! The 5K run/walk will be held Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 24, at 8:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Sidney. During her travels leading up to the Turkey Trot, Tootie has visited the Sidney Police Department to file paperwork for the 5K run/walk; Panache Day Spa, where her feathers were fluffed for the big day; Shelby Chiropractic Health Center where her shoes were checked to make sure she doesn’t need new orthotics before the 5K; Davis Meats where she ordered a ham for her holiday feast; Northwood School where the student council is planning a food drive; and The Spot restaurant where she finished her holiday meal by ordering Spot pies for dessert.
