FORT LORAMIE — It’s time for Santa’s Market Holiday Crafts and Gifts Festival in Fort Loramie.

Courtney Prueter, Fort Loramie, is the organizer of this annual event and she invites the community to shop local and enjoy the popular festival that will take place Sunday, Dec. 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Fort Loramie High School.

Prueter believes in shopping local, “When I started this event 4 years ago I wanted to highlight the home based businesses of myself and my friends. I’m happy that the community responded so positively. When they shop at the festival they can feel good about supporting a small business, donating to local charities and spending a fun day with family and friends.”

In addition to over 75 vendors, shoppers can purchase food made by the Fort Loramie High School FCCLA. There will also be a local student art show throughout the day.

Children are able to try their hand and make-and-take crafts at the Santa Shop where they can also mail their letters to Santa. Santa will be making an appearance from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Professional photos will be provided by Meghan Marie Studio. Photographer Meghan (Luthman) Gorman will have a holiday backdrop and will offer a free sitting fee with Santa during the two hours Parents will receive an online link to view the photos and can then purchase online if they wish.

Admission to the festival is $2 or two canned food items with all proceeds being donated to St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank.

“The need for assistance in our area is real. I’m proud to say that last year the festival donated an entire truck bed full of groceries and close to $1,000 to St. Vincent and Rustic Hope,” Prueter said.
