CELINA — Bill Montgomery, President and CEO of Celina Insurance Group, is pleased to announce that Christine Purdy has been promoted to Director of Human Resources. She will direct and manage all recruiting and personnel responsibilities for Celina.

Purdy has six years of experience with Celina Insurance Group, joining the company following a successful career with Ford Motor Company. Her work at Celina has included Personal Lines Underwriting and Project Supervisor in Information Technology. For the past year, she has been Celina’s Human Resource Manager.

She earned a Bachelor of Business in Marketing degree from The Ohio State University and has obtained API (Associate in Personal Lines Insurance) and AINS (Associate in General Insurance) insurance designations.

“Christine’s effective management skills and enthusiasm made her the ideal choice for this position,” Montgomery said. “She has broad industry perspective and is a valuable asset to our Human Resources department.”

Christine lives in Minster with her husband Jay, and three children Ray, Paige, and Freddy.

Purdy will be replacing Jane Meinerding, who retired on Dec. 16, 2016, as Vice President of Human Resources. Meinerding’s career at Celina spanned 37 years and included work as a Systems Consultant and Life Insurance Underwriter before being chosen to lead the Human Resources department in 1992.

“Jane has been a key contributor to the success of our company. She played a major role in recruiting the talent we have in place today,” Montgomery said. “We are grateful for her distinguished tenure and dedication to Celina. From all of us at Celina Insurance Group, we wish Jane much happiness in her retirement.”

Jane currently resides in St. Marys, Ohio with her husband Dave. They have a daughter Christine, and twin grandsons, Carl and Wesley, who live in Atlanta.

Founded in 1914, Celina Insurance Group is comprised of four mutual property and casualty insurance companies. Celina underwrites auto, non-standard auto, farm, home, commercial auto and property insurance, as well as umbrella and casualty coverage in six Midwestern states. Celina Insurance Group is represented by some 500 independent agencies.
