SIDNEY — Shelby County Probate Judge William R. Zimmerman Sr. has announced that marriage license applications can now be made online.

“We are pleased to advise the public that they can now complete the marriage application paperwork online”, says Zimmerman. “This will save people considerable time when applying for their marriage license.”

Probate courts in Ohio issue marriage licenses. The cost in Shelby County for a marriage license is $76.

Tricia Rosengarten, chief deputy probate clerk in Shelby County reports that when the online application for a license is completed both applicants still need to come to the court to sign the application and pick up their license.

“The online application will speed up the process. When the applicants come in all they have to do is verify who they are, provide proof of divorce from their last marriage, pay the fee and sign the application” said Rosengarten.
