Judge hands down two-year sentence

SIDNEY — A Sidney man was sentenced to two years in prison in one of his two cases that went before Shelby County Common Pleas Court officials for disposition recently.

Joshua A. Elliston, 41, 333 S. Miami Ave., was ordered to serve 12 months with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) on each of two counts of trafficking in drugs. The terms are to be served consecutively.

Judge James Stevenson cited a previous drug conviction record and the incidents of trafficking were on multiple occasions.

In a separate case, Elliston was given 180 days in the county jail on one count of attempted receiving stolen property. The term is to be served concurrently with the prison term.

• Chris Lovett, 39, at large, was sentenced to 11 months with the ODRC on two counts of trafficking in drugs. He also received a 13-month sentence in prison on two additional counts of trafficking in drugs. The sentences are to be served concurrently.

He was also ordered to pay restitution to the Sidney Police Department in the amount of $750.

• Nicholas Wood, 37, 750 Broadway Ave., was sentenced to 17 months in prison for possession of drugs for having several bags of marijuana. He was fined $300 and assessed the court costs. He was also ordered to forfeit $980 in cash seized at the time of his arrest.

• John D. Blevins, 42, at large, received a three-year term at the ODRC for aggravated possession of drugs for having a large amount of Oxycodone.

• Rayshawn M. Johnson, 35, 709 S. Main Ave. Apt. F, was sentenced to six months in prison on a single count of trafficking in drugs.

• Michelle R. Dubose, 26, 744 Brooklyn Ave., was ordered back to the Shelby County Jail for probation violations in three separate cases.

• Ronald L. St. Myers Jr., 24, 1005 Park Ave., Piqua, received a 60-day sentence to the county jail on one count of physical control under the influence violation.

• Charles R. Blankenship, 55, 4632 Vermont Ave., was sentenced to 60 days in the county jail on one count of attempted possession of drugs.

• Kody J. Welton, 19, Rittman, Ohio, was found guilty of attempted passing of a bad check. He reportedly wrote a bad check to Curly’s Meats in Jackson Center in the amount of $4,677.18. A presentence investigation was ordered.

• Earl N. Tucker, 36, 725 Campbell Road, was ordered to serve six days in the county jail on a probation violation.

• Melissa M. Blair, 33, 311 N. Walnut Ave., was ordered to the custody of the county sheriff for a probation violation. Her bond was set at $2,000.

• Keesha D. Powers, 25, 750 Brooklyn Ave., was placed on five years of community control and fined $200 on one count of attempted permitting drug abuse. She was also ordered to complete the Moving On program.

• Blake E. Crummel, 26, Vero Beach, Florida, was placed on five years of community control and fined $200 on two counts of trafficking in drugs. He was also ordered to forfeit $1,378 in cash confiscated during his arrest. The case was transferred to Florida.

• Paige Lynn Williams, 21, Vero Beach, Florida, was placed on five years of community control, and fined $200 on one count of possession of drugs. She must also successfully complete drug and alcohol counseling. The case was transferred to Michigan.

• Javion M. Baker, 20, Frankfort, Kentucky, received five years of community control and assessed court costs on one count of possession of drugs. The case was transferred to Kentucky.

• Marcella Hauff, 37, at large, was placed on five years of community control and fined $200 on one count each of possession of drugs and possessing criminal tools. She was also ordered to obtain drug and mental health counseling.

• Shawn W, Greer, 33, 230 Jefferson St. Apt. 60, received five years of community control and was fined $300 on a count of possession of drugs. He was also ordered to enter a drug rehabilitation program.
