Botkins extends CRA boundaries

BOTKINS — The village of Botkins will have a good idea of the state of their streets and roads by the end of the month.

Village Administrator Randy Purdy told the village council during its regular meeting, Tuesday, April 11, that a street analysis will begin soon to assess the condition of the roadways and calculate a prospective cost of repairs and replacement.

The council took action to pass an ordinance that amends, restates and adopts new boundaries of the community reinvestment area (CRA). The vote means the Woodland subdivision is included in the CRA.

Woodland developer Todd Weigandt reported that construction in the subdivision is going well. He asked council to consider moving into Phase 2 of the development this year instead of in 2018. The council took his request under advisement.

The governing board voted to extend the village’s contract with Miami Valley Lighting and Purdy reported that he had renewed 10 accounts with DP&L at a rate that was lower than the previous rate.

Marcus Counts announced his interest in filling an open seat on the council.
